About This Website

Welcome to Lawfully Equal, a platform dedicated to exposing and raising awareness about police brutality, excessive force, false imprisonment, racial profiling, malicious prosecution, et cetera. This website serves as an archive and resource for those seeking justice, awareness, and reform within the U.S. criminal justice system.

Here, we share firsthand accounts, legal updates, and resources for individuals who have been wrongfully targeted by law enforcement and jails. Through advocacy, storytelling, and community engagement, we strive to bring these injustices to light and push for accountability and change.

About Demario Lashun Hankins (Demar Bey)

My name is Demario Lashun Hankins, also known as Demar Bey. I created this website to share my personal experience of injustice and to expose the systemic issues that allow such violations to continue. My case began in Texarkana, Texas, and ultimately led to a wrongful imprisonment in Miller County Detention Center in Texarkana, Arkansas.

I am a decorated military veteran with an honorable discharge and no prior criminal record, yet I endured a series of unlawful actions, including false imprisonment, excessive force, malicious prosecution, denial of medical care, racial discrimination, falsification of court records, forgery, et cetera. These violations, committed under color of state law, infringed upon my Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendment rights just to name a few.

This civil rights case in (Hankins v. Bryant et al | 4:24-cv-04119) is a compelling instance of systemic abuse of authority, where law enforcement officers and other state actors colluded to violate my civil rights. My story is not just about what happened to me—it is about exposing the corrupt practices within the justice system and advocating for change so that others do not suffer the same fate.

By sharing my story and the stories of others who have endured similar injustices, I aim to shine a light on the systemic failures that continue to impact marginalized communities. This platform is not just about seeking justice for myself but about holding those in power accountable and ensuring that no one else has to endure the same mistreatment.

Our Mission

To highlight positive community efforts in bridging the gap between law enforcement and disenfranchised communities.

To bring awareness to the injustices committed by law enforcement and the judicial system.

To share personal stories of individuals affected by police misconduct.

To provide resources for those seeking legal help, advocacy, and support.

To hold authorities accountable by exposing misconduct and demanding justice.

Why This Matters

To be clear, not all law enforcement officers and public officials are bad apples, but we do have a few from time to time that overreach their constitutional and fiduciary duties to the public as you will see and recognize clearly in my case. As private men and women we should not fear for our lives those whom we pay taxes to, and they turn right around and abuse those same powers and authorities limited by the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

Social equity involves making sure that everyone has access to the same opportunities and outcomes. This can include addressing systemic inequalities through policies and interventions.

Police misconduct and abuses of power are widespread and disproportionately impact minorities and marginalized communities. Many victims of these injustices suffer in silence due to fear, lack of resources, or the overwhelming power of the system against them.

By telling these stories and providing resources for legal action and advocacy, we aim to break the silence, inspire action, and push for meaningful reform. The fight for justice is not just about one person’s story—it’s about demanding systemic change and ensuring accountability for law enforcement and public officials.
